Vegas was great...now it's back to work.

Vegas was so great. It is hard to back home and have to go back to work. Thank God I did not have to work today. We did not get to Waseca until 2:00 A.M. today. Our flight got in at 11:20 but by the time Cassie picked us up and we took her home and then drove to Waseca it was 2:00. So today I am just trying to recover.

Well Vegas was a blast from start to finish. Wed. when we got in and we just went out for supper and then went to bed. Thur. we were going to rent a car and go see Hoover Dam but all the cars were rented. So instead Rick and I went for a walk down the strip and then went back to the Riviera and went to practice shooting. After that we met up with Serena, Eric and a couple other people and went back down the strip and had supper and did a little shopping. Then we went down to the bar at the Riviera and had a couple drinks and just visited with a bunch of other archers.

Friday was our first day of shooting. We did not have to shot until 4:00 so we slept in and then just walked around the trade show and watched other people shoot. Shooting was fun. I was on a bale with Rick and right next to us was Paul. So Paul, Rick and I all were on the line at the same time. It was really fun to be able to shoot with them. Shooting went so much better for me this year then last. I was very happy with how I shot on Friday. After shooting we went to the BCY party on the top of the Riviera. They have food and drink for free, but best of all was the fact that Ted Nugent was getting inducted into the Bow hunters Hall of Fame. So he was there and his table was right next to ours. It was so cool. He was super nice to everyone he took pictures with all of us and him and his wife signed stuff for us. He gave a great speech. Even if I think he is really out there on his ideas, it was still great to see and talk to him. After that Jane, Paul, Hannah, Rick and I all went out for some dessert and then it was off to bed.

Sat. we had to get up a little bit early, 8:30, so we could get ready to shoot at 10:00. Shooting went good but not as good as on Fri. I was still pretty happy with it. After shooting we rented a car with Paul, Jane and Hannah and went to Hoover Dam. It was raining most of the day but we did get a break in the rain so we could enjoy seeing it. It was really something to see. When we get back we went to the Archers Appreciation Party. Again we had free food. But the big news of the night was that Rick WON THE GRAND PRICE for the party. They gave us all tickets when we walked in the door and then drew one after dinner. There was over a 1000 people there and they picked Ricks number. It was so exciting. Oh I guess you might want to know what he won.....He is going on a all expense paid guided White tale deer hunting trip with the owner of the Morrell Target company. He has land in Texas, Nebraska and South Dakota. Rick gets to pick where he wants to go. And while he is hunting they are going to be filming it for Dale Morrell's hunting show. I guess he has some hunting show on one of the cable channels. It is a trip of a life time for any hunter and best of all it is all paid for!

Sunday was the last day of shooting. I had to shoot at 7:00 and Rick at 10:00. I was again very happy with how I shot. It went so much better then last year. Last year I was in the 18th flight and this year I was in the 15th flight, so I moved up a lot. No money for me this year, I was in the middle of my flight. Rick shot great on Sunday. He placed just out of the money. Everyone else also shot good. Hannah was the best of us all placing 3rd in the youth class. She showed us all up. After shooting was all done a bunch of us went out for supper and then went to a couple of the different casinos and then down to the bar for a drink.

Monday we had to check out of the hotel by 11:00 so we stored our bags with the bell hop and then Paul, Jane, Hannah, Rick and I all went to a car show. It was a good way to waist some time before we could go to the airport. Jane had free passes for us all so if it is free I will go! About 3:30 we were off to the airport and then we were on our way home.

So now it is back to everyday life. I have lots of pictures that I will put up in the days to come.

Later Sharon
