Liam Lifting

I was trying to lift this morning while I was babysitting Liam. As you can see he decided he should try and lift too!

" There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." - Albert Einstein

It has been another great weekend. Fri. I lifted in the morning and then just did some house work. At 3:30 Rick picked me up and we went up to the Running Room so he could get some good running shoes. I spent $28.00 on socks. Then we went out to eat at Harry's in Lakeville. We tried to call Cassie and Nick to see if then wanted to come out to eat but she did not answer her phone. And I was even going to pay! After we ate we went to Owatonna and shopped at Kohls and Fleet Farm. I got Liam a cute John Deer shirt.
Sat. I had a relaxing day. I stayed in bed until 8:30 then got up and sat around in my p.j.'s reading the paper. When I finally got going I got lots done. I got all my stuff marked and ready to go for mom's garage sale. Now I just need to get it there. Sat. night Amy, Adam, Liam and I all went to Ricks house for pizza and movie night. We watched Aliens VS. Predator Requiem. Everyone who knows me knows that my favorite movies of all times are the Aliens movies. I liked the first AVP movie too but this was not so good. Really had no plot. Lots of action, but no plot. Amy hated it, but it is just because she is afraid of all scary movies. She had to have Dudley sit by her all night to keep her safe.
Today I got up and went for a 7 mile run. That is the furthest I have run so far. I ran 17 miles this week. Still way behind what I should be for training, but I am feeling really good when I run. No big pains yet! After running I went out the club to shoot. It was way to cold. So now I am making chili for supper. So I better go check on it.

Hard Work

Yesterday afternoon I took Liam for a run with me in his running stroller. It was the hardest workout I have had in a long time. It was a lot harder pushing him then I would have thought! I ran/walked 5 miles with him. Took me about 15 minutes longer then normal. Today my butt muscles hurt!!!!!

Great Weekend

What a great 4 day weekend I had! On Friday night I went to a band fundraiser and had steak dinner with Tim Fierke and Rick. It was great food. After we ate we went to McDonald's to get some coffee only to find out they did not have decaf, can you believe it! So we went to Kwik Trip and got some coffee there. Then we came to my house and had cupcakes and visited for awhile. It was a nice evening. Sat. morning I got up at 5:30 so I could be ready for Amy to pick me up at 6:15. We went to LeCenter to go to the city wide garage sales. It was a mad house. I have never seen so many people going to garage sales. Some of the streets were so full of cars and people you could not even drive. We got lots of good deals. Amy got Liam lots of summer clothes. I got Liam some toys for my house and a really nice new jacket. We got back to Waseca about 2:30 and I was cold and tired. So I did something I hardly ever do and I sat on the couch and put the TV on. I might have even taken a nap! Sat. night I went to Ricks house for some great Buffalo chicken pizza and then we watch UFC. It was great. I did not get to bed until 12:00 and then I had to get up early again today. Amy and I went to Faribo to run the River Bend Nature Center 5K. It is the hilliest course. I thought I was going to die!!!!! My time was not very good 25:56. But since I have not run any hills in at least a year it was ok. I was in the top 1/3 of the 108 people that ran it. Amy did good finishing in 30:35 min. We both need to work on the hill running. After we ran they had a pancake breakfast. Just what you need after running 3.2 miles. When I got back to Waseca I went out to the WAC outdoor range where they were having a shoot. I did not shoot but helped pick up the 3-D targets. While I was being such a big help I got Ricks truck stuck in the mud. Paul had to pull it out. It was stuck good! Now my weekend is coming to and end. It is back to work on Monday. So I am going to relax for the rest of the night.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!!!"

Today is my day off. I got up this morning and ran 5.24 miles around the lake. It was so still out. It was perfect for running. After I got home Amy brought Liam over. He wanted to go outside and play so we did for a while, but it was chilly out. After lunch my mom and dad came over. Dad tilled up my garden and we planted grass. Now I am going to have a very, very small flower garden, (don't worry I picked up Mary.) Liam sat with his great grandma while I helped Dad with the garden. He was super tired when we got back in the house. I laid him down and he did not even cry, he just rolled over and fell a sleep. That was an hour ago. I am thinking he will sleep for another hour or so and then Amy will be here. Tonight I am going to get my bow ready for outdoor shooting. Tomorrow I am babysitting Liam again. I am going to try and run with him in the running stroller. I am sure I will not be doing 5 miles! I hope it is a little nicer then it is today. Well that is all I know for today. I will try and take some cute pictures of Liam to put up because I know its been a few days since I have posted any.

"Running is a big question mark that's there each and every day. It asks you, are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?"

It is finally going to be nice out! The sun is out for the second day in a row. I am glad we are finally getting some warmer weather. I had to work all weekend. After work on Sat. I went to the FAC end of the year party. It was fun, I will miss seeing everyone every Thur. night. Yesterday after work I went for a long run. I ran 14.5 miles in the last seven days. Now I just need to do that in one day. I am a little sore this morning. I ran about 5.5 miles last night. That is the longest I have ran since before I had my stress fracture. So far so good......no injury's. Tonight I am not running. I have to stop in Faribo on my way home to order my picture from Christa and Jese's wedding. Then at 7:00 I have to go down to the WAC to shoot. Some guy from the Waseca County News wants us down there so he can take some picture for the paper. They are going to have a article about the State shoot in the paper on Tue. or Thur. I have not picked up my bow since State, hope I can still pull it back. The boss is gone all this week so once again I am in charge for a few hours. So I guess I better get to work.

"The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain." -Dolly Parton

Today I ran in the rain. It was kind of fun, well it was fun until I turned into the wind. I did not run yesterday because it was sooooo windy. I could have run in the morning before the rain started but I was a baby and stayed in my warm house. I babysat Liam yesterday from 11:00 to 4:30. He is getting fast when he walks. I lost him in my house twice. Good thing my house is little! Today I am getting all the stuff done that I have been putting off. Making phone calls, washing clothes, all that fun stuff. I also have to make some bars to take to the FAC banquet on Sat. I also have to work this weekend. Then I have the next three weekends off. I think I am going to go to Mankato this afternoon to go to Best Buy. I want to get a HD radio for my car. I want to look at them and see what I like. Don't know if I will buy one yet. I have my gold money and my birthday money saved for it. If I don't buy that I might just have to order the Kindle.

He is sooooo cute

This is Liam looking out the door at my house last week. He wanted to go outside and play. I don't think I will be able to put my screen on the door this year because Liam will probably go through it! Yesterday after work I ran 5.24 miles it took me 44 min. to run. That is a 8:40 mile. I was pretty happy with that. I was not pushing it just running a good steady pace. I am trying really hard to train smart. Today I lifted and then ran. Only 3 miles today. I could tell I lifted first. I hope to get out and run in the morning on Thur. before it starts to rain. But I guess it is going to be really windy. I am soooooo sick of the weather. I want some sun!!!!

STATE

Well the indoor archery season is done for another year. I had the MSAA State shoot this weekend. It was lots of fun. The FAC and WAC did great with lots of winners from both clubs. I got 3rd place in my flight. It was lots of fun. Rick was the big winner of the shoot. He had the best score, 300 59X, of all 800 shooters and won the money class for the second year in a row. I will try and get a couple pictures up tonight or on Wed.
It was back to work yesterday. I sure wanted to stay in bed when the alarm went off at 4:10. After work yesterday I lifted for the fist time in almost 3 weeks. It is the one good thing about archery being done, I can get back to lifting 3 times a week. Today at work I had to do fire drills, some of the teachers get so pissed that we make them go out of the building. This afternoon I have my yearly review. We had to write are own reviews this year and then we have to go over it with the boss. Pretty dumb. I have the next three days off. Really have nothing big to do. No painting or anything else. I think I will just take it easy. Should be able to get some good runs in. Speaking of running Christa, Jese and Amy did a great job on the 5 mile race they ran on Sat.
I don't know anything else, life is nice and slow today.

letter to me

So I was on the KDWB web site and was reading about the Brad Paisley song Letter To Me. It is a song about an adult writing a letter to his 17-year-old self. The DJ's decided to write letters to there 17-year-old self's. They were all so good. So it got me thinking what would I write to myself. What kind of advise would I give to myself, what have I learned since I was 17. So here is my letter to my 17-year-old self:

Dear 17 year-old Sharon,

Take time to look around and see what is all out there for you. There is a lot more of the world then Faribault. When you sign up for classes for your last year of high school don't take all the easy classes. You are a lot smarter then you think. Take a few classes that challenge you.
That feeling of self-confidence that you have now will leave you if you do not believe in yourself. You need to know that you can and will be able to do anything if you put your mind to it. You should stop worrying about how much you weigh. You will never get fat. You need to learn to eat right and enjoy food. You have to learn that you can not control everything in your life now or in the future. Cherish your friends. Some of them will not make it to there 25th birthday so make sure you tell them you love them while you can. When Chris goes a little nuts remember that you need to be there for her, time is short. Stop lying to Mom and Dad when you are going to go out drinking, they know what you are up to. Just be safe. Don't drink just to get drunk, you know it always leads to no good. Alcoholism is going to play a role in your life in the future so be careful. I know it seems like the end of the world when you don't have a boyfriend, but you have to remember that you don't need a man to make you whole. You are a great person all by yourself. Lastly get yourself some good bra's, those perfect perky breast you have now will not look so good at 46 if you do not support them now!
Believe in yourself.

your 46-year-old self

It is done

The living room is done! I am so happy with it. It makes the room look way different. It is a big improvement. I spent all morning putting up pictures and getting everything back in the room. Now I have two more days off work to just relax! I had a hard time taking the picture with all the windows, the green looks different then the picture shows. You will have to come over and visit if you want to see the true color.
Last night we had our pizza party for the end of league in WAC. After eating we played some shooting games, it was fun. Tonight I am going to go shoot again. Only 4 more days till State. I took Liam with me to the party last night til Adam got there. He was such a good boy.
I am going to go run around the lake now.
