Spring is in the air.....

I think it is finally here. It is warm enough now that you can actually go outside without gloves on your hands. Yesterday was so nice out. After work I had to pick up Liam and Josie because Amy and Adam had to go to a wake. When we got home we went outside and played. It was nice to be out in the fresh air. Liam and I were throwing sticks in the creek by our house and I told him he could not go by it without me because I did not want him to fall in it and drown. Well that was a mistake because then he kept asking me who drowned in the water. I had to tell him over and over again that no one drowned. But he still told Josie she could not go by the water because someone fell in and drowned. I guess I better watch what I say.
Yesterday Amy, Liam, Josie and Christa came to visit me at work and brought me a donut.  So on top of eating peeps all morning I ate a donut and then I went to Caribou because I could get a free drink and so I got a mocha. By the time I was done with all that I felt like I was going to vomit! I am pretty sure I gained 10 pounds yesterday. Thank goodness Rick made me a delish salmon and shrimp supper so I ate something healthy for the day. Great news I ORDERED MY NEW BIKE!!! I should be riding in style withing a couple of weeks!!!!! Tonight is the last night of archery league so we are having a pizza party. Next week will just be practice and then it is State. I will be ready for archery to be done and to move on to outside sports, like bike riding!!!

Growing old

Grandpa Trenda 94 years old

The Trenda Family

Liam 4 years old and Great Great Grandpa Trenda 94 years old. They have the same birthday

Josie

Grandma Trenda 90 years old

Grandma and Grandpa Trenda

In February my Grandpa turned 94 years old and in March my Grandma turned 90 years old. It is hard to believe they are that old. The pictures are from the birthday parties that we had to celebrate their days. When I look at the pictures it brings back lot of memories of Grandma, Grandpa and all the Aunts and Uncle Jr.  I remember all the holidays we celebrated at Grandma and Grandpa's and how much fun we use to have there. I remember the old farm house and when they built the new house. I think about going out to see the pigs in the barn with Grandpa and being scared of them. I remember all the gardens that they had and how much they cared for them and enjoyed taking all there goods to the farmers market. I remember after school walking downtown to Ochs Department Store and hanging out with Grandma while she worked. I remember going to the fair and seeing all the purple ribbons that Grandma won every year and being proud of them and telling all my friends that she was my Grandma. Grandma was always there every year to watch us in the Dress Review for 4-H. Nothing can compare to Grandma's  kolackes and she made the best gravy around. I remember all the homemade candy and cookies she would make whenever we had a get togethers. I remember that Grandma and Grandpa always brought us something little from there travels. Even if it was just a coin from when they went to Vegas I always loved that they thought of us while they were on vacation. I think about how sad I was on the day that Grandma and Grandpa had the auction at the farm to sell everything off so they could move into a apartment at 3 Links. I really cannot say that I have any bad memories of Grandma and Grandpa. I always knew they would be there for us no matter what we did. I will never forget and try to live by the best advice Grandpa ever gave me. He said "enjoy life now, travel while you can. Don't put it off thinking you will do it when you are older because that day my not come."

I have lots of good memories of the Aunts and Uncle Jr. too. When I think of Uncle Jr. I remember when I was very young and he was in the Armed Services, I think the Air Force. I remember sending him letters and singing to him on tapes and sending them off to him. He used to send us gifts all the time from his time over seas. I still have a pair of silk pajamas that he sent me from I think Japan. He use to spoil us when we were little and I use to love it when he came to visit. I remember going to the Covered Bridge  restaurant when he was the chef there.
When I think of Aunt Joann I think about when I was in 1st grade and we took our fist family trip to CO to see her and stay with her for a few days. I think of her as being the one in the family that was not afraid to say what she thought. I remember thinking it was cool that she was a nurse and that she went back to school in her later years to become an RN.
When I think of Aunt Mony I think about all the times we would all go to her house and she would cut our hair one after another. I always think of her as  beautiful bride because mom always had her wedding picture hanging on the wall.
And then there is Aunt Sandy. I always looked up to Sandy as being the independent women that I wanted to be. She lived in the big city and had good job and made it all on her own. That is what I wanted to be when I grew up. I remember when she came and stayed with us when mom and dad where on a vacation. She was always and still is fun to be around and talk to.
I cherish each and every memory I have of my family.

Puppy play date

Today Christa brought Kipper down so he could have a play date with Morgan and Dexter. Poor Morgan was scared to death of Kipper. He was so scared that he jumped on my bed with my brand new comforter on it and when Kipper also jumped on the bed Morgan decided she should pee on it. I was not to happy with Morgan. She finally got somewhat over being scared and came out and sat with Kipper. She even played a little with them. Dexter of course loves it when Kipper is here. They are best doggy friends. While they were outside the neighbors big black lab came over and attacked Dexter, Kipper and Morgan. Morgan and Kipper made it in the house but Dexter got into it with the dog. Stupid big dog scared poor Dexter. Dexter loves other dogs so he is not used to ones that are mean. Thank goodness the neighbor was watching and called his dog right away before anyone got hurt. Hope we don't have trouble with the dog coming over to our yard. They are usually not out of there kennel unless the neighbor is out with them so that is good. They could hurt Dexter and Morgan pretty fast if they wanted to. I think he mostly was curious of the dogs and just came up to them to fast scaring them all.  Maybe we will have to set up a meeting of dogs so they get to know each other.

The only thing I miss....

Giant Avail Advanced 1

Today we went to Faribault to shoot a 300 round. Rick shot another 300 60X. I shot 290 34X, not very good. But it was worth going to Faribault because on the way home we stopped at the Broaster. The chicken at the Broaster is the only thing I miss about Faribault. There really is no better chicken then they make at the Broaster. It is a big treat for me to stop there and get it. I go there about twice a year. So I guess it will be another 6 months before I go again.
Above is the picture of the bike I want to get. Rick and I took our bikes over to the bike shop to be tuned for the summer and on the way over Rick said I should really think about up grading my bike. The one I have is okay but this one is way better. Of course it going to cost me but I think it will be worth it. It will most likely be the last road bike I will ever buy. This year I am going to do a lot more biking and a lot less running. I cannot run most of the races I usually run because I work on the weekends of the races. So it will be a good summer to do some biking. Rick and I really have a lot of fun biking together. I am looking forward to having the time to do a lot more biking since we will not have a house to remodel this summer. We are going to get going on the last few major projects we have left on the house as soon as archery is done in a couple of weeks. That way we will have all summer to just have fun doing what we want to do.
Yesterday Rick and I had a date day. After we went to the bike shop we went out for lunch and then went to a movie. After the movie we went to Kohl's and picked out a new bedspread since Morgan decided that she should chew up our old one. When we got home we watched another movie and UFC. It was  a good day. It is nice to have a weekend where we really had nothing pressing to do.
I have one more day off then it is back to work. I sure love having 4 day weekends!

The speeding ticket I almost got but should not have.......

Cassie working on her mosaic

Me working on my mosaic

My finished project...I never said I was much of an artist!

So today Cassie and I went to a mosaic class. I am not much of an artist so mine is pretty simple, but it was fun to do and to spend the afternoon with Cassie.
On my way to Cassie's I was driving along and had my cruse set at 61 in a 55. Now I know that is 6 miles over the limit but I was going with traffic. Well a car passed me and as he passed me I saw a cop at the side of the road. I did not think much of it since that car was going much faster then me. Well the cop pulled me over! I was pissed. So he giving me a ticket and telling me that he is going to give me a deal and put down that I was only going 65 since I was clocked at 68.  I knew I was not going 68, I never speed that fast in a 55 and I know my cruse is not off by 7 mile per hour.  So I asked him how fast the car  in front of me was going since I had my cruse set at 61 when the person passed me. He started to back down right away and said oh he was looking down at his radar and did not realize that the car had passed me he just saw on his radar that one car was going 60, that would be me, and the other car was going 68. He apologises  and then says he will take the ticket back. Now I am happy he took the ticket back since I was not going 68 but really how can he even write a ticket out without even seeing the car. Does not seem like very good police work to me. I guess that would explain why he is working in Montgomery.......

Good Job Rick!!!!

Today Rick went to New Ulm to shoot in a money archery shoot and he won the whole thing! He had a great time and did super good shooting. Not only did he win $160 he also won a target worth $150. Well worth going down to shoot. I went  along for the ride and to get out of the house for awhile. It was  a good time.
Yesterday I felt like crap again, not to happy about that but I am sure each day will get better. I made a delish clean eating meal last night for supper. It was a crispy chicken sandwich and it was super easy to make. Tonight Rick is going to cook us up some brats for supper. I am glad to be able to grill out again.
We took Morgan and Dexter for a walk when we get home. Morgen is getting much better now walking. Tonight we are going to rent UFC on pay per view. We are going to spend some of Ricks winnings :)

Craft Day with Liam and Josie

Josie painting

Liam Painting

Josie working on her drum

Josie loved using the glue

Liam working on his drum

Dexter, Morgan and Liam getting ready for a nap

Today I am babysitting Liam and Josie. We decided that it would be craft day. I got lots of paper, paint, markers,  glue and new kid scissors . I had some oatmeal containers that they used to make drums out of. Josie could not but the glue down. She loved gluing everything she could.  I finally had to take it away from her when she started gluing things to the table. They had lots of fun. It made the morning go by super fast. Now Josie is sleeping and Liam is watching a movie with the dogs and resting. He told me he was not going to take a nap today.
I am finally starting to feel better. I was able to breath much better yesterday. After work we took the dogs for a walk. It was Morgans first real walk. She did pretty good but she is scared of the cars. She has never really been outside other then our yard and when she has gone to the vet. Dexter was very excited to go for the walk.
So after 6 years I finally made a eye doctor appointment. I am going to a different eye doctor that a friend recommended.  My old one was in Faribault and he was okay but I really did not want to go back to him. I am having some troubles with my eyes so I figured I better go in. I cannot get in until April 20th. I also have a dentist appointment on April 19 to get my teeth cleaned so my days off that week are going to suck but it needs to be done.
I am sooooo happy the snow is melting. I am not liking the mud that Dexter and Morgan are dragging in the house. It is going to be a messy spring I think.

Pregnancy pictures from the 80's

8 months pregnant with Cassie
about 6 months pregnant with Christa
On my way to the hospital to have Christa
So Christa said I should put some pictures  of me on here from when I was pregnant. So here they are. I know I look pretty cool with my huge 80's glasses and sweet hair styles. I also look huge!
So I went back to the doctor today. I now have bronchitis and asthma. She said I have most likely had undiagnosed asthma for awhile. I had the same thing last spring and when I run in the cold I always have trouble breathing. I will just have to use an inhaler if it gets bad. She also wants me to call he asap if I get a cold and have trouble breathing again and she will put me on prednisone again. She put me on it today. I don't like taking it because it keeps me up at night.  I was happy to hear I did not have pneumonia. I was sure I had it because I was having so much trouble breathing. It took me almost 15 minutes to catch my breath yesterday after I opened buildings at work. I did not go to work today because I was having so much trouble breathing. I hope to be healthy enough to be able to start running and lifting again next week. It has been forever!

"Map out your future, but do it in pencil." -Jon Bon Jovi

Rick got his new bow a couple of weeks ago and he loves it. It is a  pretty bow. We have league tonight and I am going to go and try and shoot. I did not go on Tue. because after working the whole day I was shot. This illness is taking forever to get over. I am just so tired all the time.
Yesterday I drove to Mankato to have the oil changed and the tires rotated on my car. I was glad we did not get all the snow they were talking about earlier.  Today I was suppose to go to the doctor for a recheck on my heart rate but my doctor called in sick. So now I have to go tomorrow. I was up and all ready to go when they called, sure am glad I was not on the road already.
I just realized that daylight savings time starts this weekend. That means I will get one less hour of sleep on Sat. night. I hate it when I have to work on that day. It will be like getting up at 3:00 instead of 4:00. I am guessing I will be ready for bed about 7:00 Sunday night.
Morgan has decided that she can run across the road now so I put Dexter's invisible fence collar on her. Dexter never leaves the yard even without the collar on. He is to afraid of the shock, he learned at the old house that if he heard the beep he better get back. Since we put the fence in at this house this fall all of the flags are under the snow. So Morgan is going to have to learn where she can be by hearing the beep. She got her first lesson  this morning. She is a fast learning so I figure she will not need many more lessons.
I finally figured out my troubles with my camera and computer. I did not disconnect the camera from the computer the last time I used it so it messed stuff up. Once I rebooted the computer it fixed itself. I was happy to be able to download my pictures.
I have to go make a pie now to take to Amy's house for supper tonight. She is having us over for a turkey supper.

Green

I miss seeing green. It would be great if the snow would just melt away in the next few days and we could start to see the ground again. Then the grass and the trees would start to turn green again. I am so sick of all the white out there. This is the hardest part of the year, I am ready to be outside again. I like winter in Dec., Jan. and even Feb. but by March I am over it. I need some color back in my life!
I went back to work yesterday. I made it until 1:00 and then I went home. I was exhausted. I hope to be able to work the whole day today. Good thing I have over 400 hours in sick leave since I have use 33 hours this pay period already. You look at all those hours and think you have so many but when you get sick they are gone in a hurry.
We have archery tonight, I hope I can make it to it. I have not shot my bow in over a week. Maybe I will just go down for a little while.
Our garage door opener broke the other day. We are getting a new one put in today. After having a opener for so many years it sure suck when you actually have to get out of the car and open the door. I can just barley reach it to shut it again. Good thing it has not been cold out because then it would really suck getting out to open it. Wow I sound lazy.....
So my camera and computer decided that they would not communicate with each other. It is so irritating. I have a Sony camera and of course they make there memory cards smaller then any of the normal slots in computers and printers. So after several days of trying I have given up and I ordered on a adapter for the memory card. Good thing it only cost $10.00. I am sure Sony makes everything different so you have to buy there stuff.
Think GREEN today

sick days

I have not had a very good week. I started feeling sick on Sunday and have gone down hill every since. I had 3 days off of work and pretty much did nothing but sit on the couch and watch tv and sleep. I was suppose to work today but there was no way that was going to happen so I called in sick. Last night the side of my face started throbbing so I figured I had a sinus infection. So I went to the doctor today and I was right. She said I cannot work until Monday. Also while I was there they checked my pluse and I guess it was a little high. It was kind of funny the nurse checked it 3 times and then she said it was a little high. Then the doctor came in and the first thing she did is check it again. It was 116. It should be around 70 or so. She figures it is just from the cold medicine I have been taking and that I was a little dehydrated. But she still made go have a EKG and now I have to go back again next week.
So I get done at the doctor and go to Walmart to pick up my drugs. Of course they don't have them ready. She said they would be done in about 15-20 minutes. I told her that was fine that I would come back. So I went back 45 minutes later and they are still not done! She then tells me that they will be closing for lunch and will not have them done before then. I was pretty pissed. Now I have to go back there again and all I want to do is get under a blanket and stay there. Good news is I got someone to work for me so the other people working don't have to work 12 hours shifts to cover me. I hate to do that to my co workers it sucks to work 12 hours.
That is enough about my never ending sickness.....
